Meatballs are a pretty common dish in London. And British people love it! Here’s my recipe made with London fresh ground meat and new white potatoes.

Ingredients

  • beef ground meat (500 gr)
  • jalapenoes (100 gr)
  • boiled potatoes (500 gr)
  • cheddar cheese (250 gr)
  • olive oil, soy sauce, salt, pepper, herbs condiments
  • olive oil margarine

Kitchen tools

  • fry pan
  • pot
  • mixing spool

How I did it

Step 1

Step 1: Meatballs
Preparing the meatballs. I took grounded meat (500 gr), put it in the bowl, added 2 spoons of water, added few tea spoons of margarine, mixed again, added salt, pepper and herb condiments.
Took a spoon of meat and prepped the meatballs by hand. One at a time. A bit flat in form because that's how my husband loves meatballs to be - otherwise, you can make them round of course!
Once meatballs were ready, i added them one by one in the pan. Make sure you have olive oil in the pan

Leave the meatballs on one side for 7-10 minutes, then turn on the other side and leave them for another 7 minutes. Once turned on the other side, add the cheddar chese on top - just a square piece that fits the meatball size!

Step 2

Boiled, seasoned potatoes
So so so simple. What can be more simple that boiled, nature potatoes?!
Wash the potatoes, cut them in cubes and add them in the pot. I left the skin on the potatoes just for the crunch. It was a very thin skin. We loved it!
Add salt in the water you are using to boil the potatoes and leave to boil for 30 minutes before the first check.

Check the potatoes with a for, to see if the're correctly boiled and ready to be removed from the heat. If not, leave them to boil for anothe 15 minutes, as I did.

Step 3

Step 3: Meatballs are served!
Meatballs are ready, the cheddar chese melt! Now, remove from the pan and leave to rest for 3 minutes. In meantime, get the potatoes out and remove the skin. Cut the potatoes in smaller cubes and start season with herbs and salt.
Take the plate, add meatballs and potatoes. Drop some olive oil on the potatoes and mix. Chop some jalapenos and add them on the plate. All smelling delicous and looking good!

Enjoy!

Spaghetti: pork vs chicken. Who’s the winner?

I admit. I cannot compete against the Italian spaghetti recipes, but I also must admit that these ones weren’t bad at all. 🙂 Easy. With protein. And good.
