What makes a turkey breast healthy? The cooking method and the ingredients used.
And you can cook it healthy and keep that gold colour, perfect-herb-seasoned taste.
Turkey breast is one of the superfoods we must eat in 2017 – my list of superfoods here. Starting today! And if we are cooking it using a healthy method (such as grilled), then that’s even better! 😉
Here’s my recipe:
- 350 gr turkey breast steaks
- Herbs (thyme, oregano) for seasoning
- Olive oil, soy sauce
- Salt, pepper
- 1 medium-size aubergine
- Grill (oven-grill or separate grill)
- Chopping board
- Fork, knife
How I did it
Cook the turkey breast Buy some turkey breast steaks from supermarket, wash the steaks, season with salt, pepper, herbs. I added some turmeric too, for a slightly different taste, which i personally love! At the same time, turn the grill on (or the oven if you are using the oven grill), leave it on for 5 minutes before dropping the turkey in. 5 minutes later, add the turkey slices and turn the heat on! If you are cooking in the oven, cook the turkey breast at 180 degrees Celsius for 15 minutes. If you are cooking them onto a separate grill, like the one i have for sandwiches too, then leave the turkey breast for 20 minutes, medium heat. It's also even healthier because the grill I have (George Forman) also has a fat-reducing skills, getting all the extra fat out! But, remember, it also depends on how thick or thin the turkey steaks are!
Chop the aubergines Chop them in rounded slices and season with salt and pepper. Drop some olive oil into the wok, some soy sauce too for a punch and add the chopped aubergine into the wok and fry them in the wok (or pan) for 10 minutes. Make sure they are juicy and changed in colour before you get them out of the wok. All you have to do know is plate and serve!
