Who doesn’t love a bowl of egg noodles, stir fried in a heated wok? With some chicken breast wrapped in sesame seeds and you’re all set up for a crunchy lunch (or dinner).
Here’s my recipe:
- Chicken breast - 1 piece
- Sharwoods egg noodles (1 piece)
- Salt and pepper
- Sesame seeds
- Olive oil
- 1 bowl
How I did it
Chicken: prep and set up Wash the chicken breast, cut it in thinner slices and season properly with salt and pepper. That’s all you need to “prep” it properly. Now set the wok on fire! Turn the heat on to medium, drop some olive oil into the wok and let the oil heat a little bit. 5 minutes later, drop the chicken breast into the wok and watch how it starts to sizzle.
Chicken: cook it! Now that your chicken is giving signs of cooking, add some sesame seeds onto the uncooked side before you turn! It will stick because of the oil evaporating in the pan, don’t worry. Oh, i added 2 drops of soy sauce on every breast fillet, just because I love soy sauce and it goes well with the noodles too. Turn the chicken breasts onto the other side and let cook evenly. Add sesame seeds onto the cooked side as well - again, it will stick don’t worry. Now, 7 minutes later your chicken should be cooked evenly with some crunchy sesame seeds over it. Take the crunchy chicken breasts out on a plate.
Noodles: boil These egg noodles were so easy to cook. I just put some water into the kettle and let it boil as usual while I put the noodles pack into a bowl and once the water was boiling in the kettle, I dropped it over the noodles. Seasoned with salt and left for 5-7 minutes, mixing from time to time to get the noodles spreading (as they were vacuumed as per pack). Left them to boil and once they started separating and getting … fluffier…I put the pot aside.
Noodles: make them crunchy The wok I used to cook the pan, I threw the oil and added a fresh one, where i dropped the egg noodle to give a bit of texture and flavour. Added some pepper and dry chilly flakes and mixed. I added some basil too, left for 5 minutes and there you go - crunchy noodles ready to eat.
