Cookies from the heart!

It’s all about balance! Basic dough for a beautiful … heart cookie. 😉

Don’t be afraid of sweets! I used to be but not anymore. 😉 The secret is to start with basic sweet dishes and after mastering those, jump to more complex ones.

Here are the ingredients:

  • Flour (I chose brown flour) – 250 / 300 gr
  • Butter – 125 gr
  • Sugar – 70 – 100 gr
  • 2 beautiful eggs
  • And I add salt also, it’s a twist
  • Walter (one glass)
  • Brown sugar
  • Cinnamon
  • Baking powder

Kitchen tools:

  • Bowl
  • Spoon
  • Whisk
  • Oven tray
  • Baking paper

How I did it:

Step 1

Mix Add the flour, butter and salt in a bowl (a taller one so it doesn’t spit out. Mix them all together. IMG_7145

Step 2

Add the sugar While mixing, add the sugar but do not stop mixing. Now you ca stop! IMG_7149

Step 3

The egg The egg yolk beaten up. Add the water and mix. IMG_7150

Step 4

Mix them all together! Get all the ingredients in the same bowl and mix them all together and you can add some baking powder as well. If you notice the composition doesn’t bind add more flour or butter or another egg – it’s all about balance, doneby the book. 😉 combine_images

Step 5

The ball The result should be a little round beautiful ball which will results in so many little cookies. Add flour on the table and start stretching the dough. Be gentle not to overstretch because if you do so the consistency and texture of the dough and cookie itself won’t be the same. Once you have the dough ready, get a form (if you have one) and start making them. I chose the heart. IMG_7157

Step 6

Prepare to bake Now, get the oven on. While the oven is “on fire” and once your “dough cookies” are ready, get the oven tray, put a piece of baking paper and gently put each cookie heart. Take another egg and mix it. With a brush add egg yolk on each cookie. On top I chose to add brown sugar and cinnamon. For the flavor, I just love it. IMG_7162

Step 7

Bake some cookie Cookies are ready and are looking pretty. Now, get the tray in the oven and let it bake. I do not have a timer oven and I do not believe in baking times that much because you can easily screw it up - if your oven is messing with you, if your dough wasn’t done properly from the beginning and so on. That’s why I chose to watch the little guys until I was happy with them all. 2
