Classic lasagna

One layer of pasta, a layer of Bechamel sauce, a third layer of Bolognese filling and a snow of parmesan. That is Lasagna. And here’s a simple recipe.

Lasagna, an Italian pasta dish, well-know all over the world. When you say “Lasagna” you think of layers and of 2 key ingredients: Bolognese filling and of Bechamel sauce – recipe here. And of course, not to forget the parmesan. I think that after pizza, which is the symbol of Italian cuisine, Lasagna comes second.


  • Lasagna pasta (you can buy if from the market if you can't make it at home)
  • Bolognese filling: minced beef meat, 1 onion, 1 carrot, garlic, oregano, salt, tomato pasta, chopped tomatoes, red wine, Worchester sauce, milk and a touch of garam masala
  • Bechamel sauce (butter, flour, milk, salt and pepper)
  • Olive oil
  • Parmesan

  • whisk and small pan for the Bechamel sauce

How I did it

Step 1

The bolognese filling:
Take the carrot and onion - grate both - then add them into the wok, add oregano, garlic and salt and leave them to saute until they get the golden colour and sparkling texture.
IMG_9976 Once the onion and carrot were ready and smelled good, I've made a circle inside the wok (see image below) and add the minced meat. Then, mix.
Then, I season the minced beef meat with salt, pepper and garam masala.
I continued mixing and tasting. Once I was happy with the texture, I added the tomato sauce and the red wine. Then, made another circle inside the wok and added the chopped tomatoes
I finished the bolognese with milk (cold milk) for a creamy texture (you can add cream if you want) and Worchester sauce.

Step 3

Get it in the oven
The lasagna pasta - I've put it to boil, low heat with salt and olive oil. The oil will help the pasta layers not to stick to each other while boiling.
Once the lasagna pasta is ready, the bechamel sauce is ready and the bolognese is ready, start assembling the lasagna.
1. first, one layer of lasagna pasta
2. then, a layer of bechamel sauce
3. third, a layer of bolognese sauce
4. parmesan - grated on top of the minced meat
The above 4 steps are repeated until all the layers are done and all the pasta, filling and sauce are finished.
The last layer must be the pasta layer and on top you must add the final spoon of bechamel sauce and parmesan. Then, the tray goes into the oven for 40-45 minutes, at 200 degrees.
