This recipe had it’s inspiration from the Mastechef US TV show. I felt in the mood to play with food therefore I made it and it was fun, easy and worth the taste!
- Chicken breast - 300 gr
- Tomato - 2 medium pieces
- Mushrooms - 200 gr, Champignon mushrooms
- Carrots - 200 gr
- Red pepper - 1 piece
- Onion - 1 piece
- Pea - 200 gr
- For the basket I used: butter, flour, 1 egg / 2 eggs for 2 portions
- Pan for the chicken breast
- Pan for frying the “basket”
- Wok for the vegetable
How I did it:
Start the preparations for the chicken: First, I chopped onion into jullien slices. And put it aside in a bow. Afterwards, I sliced the chicken meat into pieces the way the slicing is made for the “shanghai” recipe. Seasoned it with salt, pepper and sweet paprika.
The vegetables: I put the vegetables into a pot and let them 5 minutes to boil. Then, I took them out and started chopping: the mushrooms, the paprika and the carrots.
Get some vegetables cookin’: Next I prepared the wok by adding a spoon of olive oil. I put the vegetables in the wok and added the chopped tomatoes. Seasoned all with balsamic vinegar and condiments: salt, pepper, lovage, celery. I let them cook for 7-10 more minutes and in this time I mixed the ingredients from time to time.
Checking the chicken: Once I put the vegetables into the wok I checked the chicken, It was almost cooked. I added a drop of soy sauce and turned the pieces on the other side. I let them cook for another 5-7 minutes.
Preparing the tomato sauce: For the sauce I used tomatoes, tomato pasta, mustard, soy sauce, one coffee spoon of sugar, garam masala and just a drop of balsamic vinegar. Mixed them all into a bowl and then added parsley.
The basket: For the basket I took an egg and separate the yolk from the glair. I beat the yolk, added condiments: salt, sweet paprika and basil, then I added the flour. In the oven tray I put the piece of butter and added all these ingredients with a ladle. I let it cook for about 5 minutes each side. It was ready.
The plating: I took a rectangle plate and added the vegetables. Over the vegetables I added the basket. On the basked I put the homepage tomato sauce and on top I added the chicken and the fresh dill. My boyfriend loved it. 🙂
